Mi trabajo nace de una necesidad de silencio y desaceleración frente a la urgencia del mundo actual. A través del dibujo con tintas japonesas y alemanas aplicadas con plumas de vidrio y metal sobre lienzos de gran escala –soportes que intervengo con esmaltes sintéticos en aerosol y pistolas aerográficas–, exploro la elasticidad del tiempo, convirtiendo el acto de dibujar en un refugio de paciencia e introspección. Influenciada por la filosofía oriental y el pensamiento contemporáneo, me formé en caligrafía china y sumi-e, encontrando en el taoísmo una guía del dualismo entre el blanco y el negro. Entiendo la repetición meticulosa del trazo como un proceso de purificación, donde el gesto manual se vuelve una herramienta para materializar lo invisible y recuperar el ritmo de lo esencial.
My work is born from a deep need for silence and slowing down in the face of today’s urgent world. Through drawing with Japanese and German inks applied with glass and metal nibs onto large-scale canvases—surfaces I intervene upon with synthetic spray enamels and airbrushes—I explore the elasticity of time, transforming the act of drawing into a sanctuary of patience and introspection. Influenced by Eastern philosophy and contemporary thought, I trained in Chinese calligraphy and sumi-e, finding in Taoism a guide for the dualism between black and white. I perceive the meticulous repetition of the stroke as a process of purification, where the manual gesture becomes a tool to materialize the invisible and reclaim the rhythm of the essential.

Sonsoles Romero (Corrientes, Argentina) es una artista multidisciplinar radicada en Buenos Aires y en Berlín. Se graduó como Directora de Cine (2008, Universidad del Cine) y Profesora de Artes Visuales (2018, ISFA Manuel Belgrano). Expuso en espacios como el ArteCo (Corrientes, 2026), BADA (Buenos Aires, 2025-2017), Feria Puro Diseño (Buenos Aires, 2025,2024), Estilo Art Pilar (Buenos Aires, 2025), Gran Salón La Boca, el Club Alemán Buenos Aires, Estilo Art Pilar, Hipódromo de San Isidro, Distrito Arenales, entre otros; en Europa, en Galería Van Gogh (Madrid, 2020) y en Galería M.A.D.S. (Milán, 2020). Sus obras forman parte de colecciones privadas en Argentina, Uruguay, Suiza y Alemania.
Sonsoles Romero (Corrientes, Argentina) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Buenos Aires and Berlin. A graduate in Film Direction (Universidad del Cine, 2008) and a Professor of Visual Arts (ISFA Manuel Belgrano, 2018), her practice navigates the intersection of cinema, calligraphy, and contemporary painting.
Romero has exhibited extensively in Argentina and Europe, with notable participations in ArteCo (Corrientes, 2026), BADA (Buenos Aires, 2017–2025), Feria Puro Diseño (Buenos Aires, 2024–2025), and Estilo Art Pilar (2025). Her work has also been featured at the Gran Salón La Boca, the German Club in Buenos Aires, the San Isidro Hippodrome, and Distrito Arenales. Internationally, her art has been presented at the Van Gogh Gallery (Madrid, 2020) and the M.A.D.S. Gallery (Milan, 2020). Her pieces are part of numerous private collections across Argentina, Uruguay, Switzerland, and Germany.
